About Us
This guild was first concieved during the decline
of the guild Valor. Machtig, Technotaoist, and I wanted to create
a guild where the leadership did not abandon it's members, where
members kept in touch, where the guild had a site that was informative
and fun to look at, and where the focus was on having fun and not
just RvR, leveling, or anything else alone.
Weeks of planning followed once we commited to this
course of action. Ideas were sketched and mapped, guild organization
and site layout were established, and a step-by-step roadmap of
the guild's development was laid out. Soon we had enough of a foundation
for a guild to take the next steps.
Now we just needed a name that spoke of who we were.
Several were considered: Cauldron of Truth, The Collective, Aiteam
Araon (people as one), Fides Publica (faith of the people),
Concordia (union), Hibernian Collective, and finally Machtig
thought of the name "The Foundation."
The Charter was drafted, debated, and then written
up as final.
On May 29, 2002, at 11:05am, The Foundation
was created with the help of several friendly Tir Na Nog locals.
Later that day, with the listing of Machtig Akarja
and myself (Heyyou There) as leaders, and Lakisa Longshank as Captain,
the Foundation was born.
On May 30, 2002, this website was created
and forums were up 4 days later.
We are laying the foundations for something that
we hope will last for a long time. Our vision is to one day have
a self-sufficient guild that will outlast all of its founders, growing
and achieving things that today we can only dream of.
